Whoa Wednesday!: What are You Saying Yes, or No to?

What are You Saying Yes, or No to?

Every choice moves us closer to or farther away from something. Where are Your Choices taking Your Life?
— Eric Allenbaugh

We often don’t think of things in terms of taking closer to for farther away. We simply do. We get up in the morning, get dressed, go to work, come home, make dinner, spend time with family or watching tv, go to bed, and repeat.

Sure, we think of big choices we’ve made, like marriage, partners, career, buying a house, moving. But not the little ones. Not the ones like deciding to get up 30 minutes earlier to write, or go for a walk, eat salad instead of a burger, call our mom. And yet, it is the culmination of all those small things that will eventually bring us closer to or farther away from the big dreams we claim we want.

Yesterday’s blog focused on gifts.

I told you I would share my answers to the questions. Here goes

THE GREATEST GIFT I EVER RECEIVED?

I am a Christian, so my salvation would be right here, but the first thing that pops into my head automatically is, bar none, my son.

AND WHAT MADE IT SO GREAT IS…

that it is a gift that keeps on giving… just this past September for my birthday, not only did he send me the most beautiful bouquet of flowers, but he also sent me a card with an amazing handwritten note, thanking me in oh so many ways for being his mother.

THE WORST GIFT I EVER RECEIVED?

Hmmmm, this one is more difficult for me. I never had to wear a pink velour bunny suit like the boy in “Christmas Story” and I honestly can’t think of anything that I just hated…

SO, WHAT MADE IT SO TERRIBLE IS EVEN HARDER TO ANSWER!! LOL..

OK, SO OF COURSE WHATEVER THAT HEINOUS GIFT WAS, I RE-GIFTED IT!!!

THE GREATEST GIFT I COULD RECEIVE NOW?

Wow, this one is tough too. But, I think the greatest gift will be watching the women I work with write their first book!

WHY DO I WANT IT?

That one is easy (finally!!) Because I know how it will transform their life. It was one of the things that prompted me to teach yoga. I had so many women come for their first time, always with the same caveat, “I am not sure I can do this, but my girlfriend said…..” and then I watched them bloom. Before they knew it they were doing things they never thought they could. Writing has an even greater power in my opinion. So, I really can’t wait to watch these women bloom into who they truly are inside

Ok, I realize my answers might not help anyone’s Christmas list, sorry about that. Well, unless you self gift writing your book this year and hanging out with me and some really cool women in Paris??

Now, how does this relate to today’s topic?
